Know about Earned leave

-       ðŸ‘‰Earned leave means leave earned in respect of periods spent on duty.

     ðŸ‘‰ For every 6 months of duty, 15 numbers of earned leave is credited to the employee resulting a total of 30 earned leave in a year.

     ðŸ‘‰Earned Leave admissible to an employee of a Deptt. other than vacation Deptt. shall be 30 days in a calendar year. 15 days of EL is credited in advance on the first January and first July every calender year.

     ðŸ‘‰ In every year on 1st January  and on 1st July , 15 nos.(Hence total 30) of earned leave are credited to the leave accounts of a employee.

        👉 If a Government servant has availed any extraordinary leave in a half-year, the credit to be afforded to his leave account at the commencement of the next half-year shall be reduced by 1/10th of the period of such leave subject to a maximum of 15 days.

 -      ðŸ‘‰ Earned leave due means the amount of earned leave to the credit of an officer.

-       ðŸ‘‰The maximum earned leave that can be availed continuously by a Government Servant is 120 days.

        ðŸ‘‰Earned leave should not ordinarily be denied to any Government Servant especially in the last ten years of his service career. 

    👉 A Govt. servant who retires on superannuation/ voluntary retirement/ invalid retirement/ premature retirement is entitled to leave salary in lieu of un-utilised EL for a maximum of 300 days at his credit on the date of such retirement.  

      ðŸ‘‰ A Government servant who resigns or quits service shall be entitled to cash equivalent in respect of earned leave at credit on the date of cessation of service, to the extent of half of such leave at his credit, subject to a maximum of 150 days. [Para 4 (c) of FD O.M. No. 55423/F dated 14.11.1986 read with amendment vide O.M. No. 7351/F dated 19.02.2003]

     ðŸ‘‰As per OGFR Rule 67 there is a Form for application of earned leave. Though practically it is rarely used, the form is placed for reference
